Summer Courtyard Camp 2018

Hermann-Grima+Gallier Historic Houses is excited to announce our 2018 Summer Courtyard Camp! Courtyard Camp will take place at both of our historic locations, located in the heart of the French Quarter. In unison with New Orleans’ Tricentennial we will explore the history of our city and the lives of the people who helped build it, as well as celebrate the here and now!

Our location sets us apart from other programs in the city. The French Quarter’s vibrant history and culture sets the stage for our unique week long programs. Boys and girls from kindergarten through eighth grade will engage their imaginations, creativity, and ingenuity as they fully immerse themselves in our 19th century historic houses.  We will explore what life was like in New Orleans at that time through a variety of games, arts and crafts, tours, and more!

History has never been so fun! Camp activities will include cooking demonstrations and lessons, theatrical performances, games, and local French Quarter field trips. Crafts will include candle, jewelry, and collage making just to name a few. Campers will also have the opportunity to examine herbs and flowers used in the 19th century to make home remedies and fragrances. We guarantee your child will have a blast creating something new everyday.

Sessions are offered both in the beginning of summer break and at the end. Dates for camp vary depending on grade level. Check out our website or email our education department for further information. We can’t wait to kick summer off with Courtyard Camp, and we hope to see you there!
