Children who love history will have a ball this summer when they step back in time at the Hermann-Grima + Gallier Historic Houses. Our week-long children’s summer camp is open to kids ages 8 to 12.

Hands-On Camp Curriculum

Our camps help children understand history by exploring the typical life of 19th-century residents of New Orleans. They’ll experience traditional pastimes from the era including arts and crafts, song and dance, games, historical presentations, tours, field trips, and even cooking demonstrations in an original hearth kitchen. Along the way, they’ll gain a sense of the unique history and culture that characterizes New Orleans’ diverse history.
