Stop by the Juneteenth Freedom Festival at Whitney Plantation to see some of the HGGHH staff as they discuss the new database of enslaved residents. This digital initiative is the culmination of years of research and gives voice to the enslaved residents of the Hermann-Grima House, noting their ages, skills, dates of sale, and other notable information.

The Freedom Festival will take place at Whitney Plantation in Edgard, Louisiana and includes local food trucks, market vendors, African dance class, author talk, free health screenings, free audio tours with the Whitney app, and other activities for children. Admission is free!
