Standard and Seasonal Tours

While all of our tours interpret the history and people who lived and worked at both Hermann-Grima and Gallier Historic houses, the standard tour at Hermann-Grima House has a special focus on urban enslavement. During the summer months we offer a Summer Dress Tour and throughout the fall we offer a tour on Creole Death and Mourning at Gallier House. Both houses are decorated throughout the holiday season with Hermann-Grima House dressed for 19th-century Creole New Year’s celebrations and Gallier Historic House dressed for traditional 19th-century Creole Christmas celebrations.

Evening after hours Tours

Visiting Hermann-Grima + Gallier Historic Houses after hours, or in the evenings, is a special experience. View our two beautiful historic homes through the soft light of evening and step into another time. During the fall join us for our Creole Death and Mourning After Dark tour at Gallier House followed by wine in the courtyard. And throughout the holiday season take in the beauty of our Candlelight Creole Christmas tour at Hermann-Grima House. An after hours tour is a wonderful way to end the day or begin an evening out. Private evening tours that last approximately one hour can also be booked for a special fee by contacting us at 504-274-0746 or info@hgghh.org.
