Mystery, Masons, and Mayhem: A French Quarter Adventure

  • French Quarter New Orleans, LA United States (map)

**Update: Event Sold Out**
Your fun-loving hosts for this event, HNOC's Programs Department staff, invite you to the participatory experience Mystery, Masons, and Mayhem: A French Quarter Adventure, to take place on April 20.

The story:
The Louisiana Purchase has gone missing. Without these precious documents, we will be returned to France! The fate of Louisiana is in your hands.

Experience an adventure steeped in history and Masonic art while visiting some of New Orleans’s most interesting museums. Teams of up to five individuals will traverse the French Quarter to look for clues, complete challenges, solve puzzles, and stop for drinks along the way in a race to rescue Louisiana.

This race will take about two and a half hours to complete. The total walking distance is up to 3.5 miles (8,000 steps).

Assemble a team of up to five of your bravest friends and meet at The Historic New Orleans Collection to receive your first clue and refreshments. If you want to make new friends, sign up as an individual and we’ll place you on a team. Don’t forget to come up with a clever team name! All participants must be at least 21 years old.

All proceeds will be donated to the French Quarter Museum Association. Registration for nonmembers opens Monday, March 25.

Public registration opens March 25. (update: This event is sold out)

Doors open at 11 a.m.; Race begins at 11:30 a.m.

520 Royal Street
Registration required; $20 entry fee per team. Solo participants can register for $5 and will be placed on a team.

This adventure is presented in conjunction with "Mystery and Benevolence: Masonic and Odd Fellows Folk Art," a traveling exhibition by the American Folk Art Museum, and THNOC's companion exhibition, "A Mystic Brotherhood: Fraternal Orders of New Orleans/"
