Museum Admission

Admission to Hermann-Grima + Gallier Historic Houses may be purchased online or at each historic house.  Each house charges admission and includes a guided tour with a wonderful museum docent.  Discounted combination visit tickets are available.  Multiple discounts not allowed. Parking & Transportation

Neither house has onsite parking. Street parking is limited and highly regulated in the French Quarter. We advise using one of many paid parking lots in the neighborhood.  The closest parking lots to the Hermann-Grima House are located two blocks away at the corner of Conti and Rampart Streets or a neighboring lot located at the corner of St. Louis and Rampart Streets.  A large parking lot spans the riverfront in the French Quarter, two blocks from the Gallier House adjacent to the French Market.

Both the Hermann-Grima House and the Gallier House are located within walking distance to the St. Charles and Canal streetcar lines.

Hermann-Grima House:

St. Charles Streetcar: Disembark at Carondelet and Canal Streets. Cross Canal Street to Bourbon Street, entering the French Quarter. Continue down Bourbon St. to St. Louis. Turn left. We are located at 820 St. Louis Street.

Canal Streetcar: Disembark at Bourbon and Canal Streets. Turn onto Bourbon Street. Continue to St. Louis Street. Turn left. We are located at 820 St. Louis.

Gallier House:

St. Charles Streetcar: Disembark at Carondelet and Canal Streets. Cross Canal Street to the French Quarter. Walk towards the river to Royal Street. Make a left onto Royal Street. Proceed eleven blocks to 1126 Royal Street, between Ursulines and Governor Nicholls Streets.

Canal Streetcar: Disembark at Canal and Royal Streets. Turn on to Royal Street. Proceed eleven blocks to 1126 Royal Street.

Museum Policies

All tours are guided by one of our wonderful team of museum docents.  You must stay with you group throughout your tour.  Shoes and shirt are required to enter the Museum.

Photography

Cameras without tripods or flashes are permitted throughout both historic houses. Video or audio recordings are not permitted. A fee is required for any professional photography inside the courtyard or house of either Hermann-Grima or Gallier Historic Houses.  For more information or to inquire about rates for the use of professional photography, please contact Alyse Mouledoux at alysem@hgghh.org. 

Coat Check

Large bags, backpacks and umbrellas must be checked at the Shop of both Hermann-Grima and Gallier Historic Houses

No Outside Food or Beverages

Unfortunately, Hermann-Grima + Gallier Historic Houses does not allow food or beverages inside the Houses. You can check food or beverage items at the Shop of either site.
