GiveNOLA Day

GiveNOLA Day is a 24-hour event hosted by the Greater New Orleans Foundation to inspire people to give generously to nonprofits making our region stronger, creating a thriving community for all.

This GiveNOLA Day we urgently ask for your support to help us cover the cost of a new roof over Gallier House. Severely damaged by Hurricane Ida last August, the state of the roof is beyond repair and places the historic home and its treasured collection at risk.

The existing slate roof must be replaced with new slate tiles in accordance with Vieux Carré Commission requirements, and it will cost us approximately $100,000. It is essential that this takes place before more weather-related damage occurs. Proper restoration of the roof is important not only to the preservation of Gallier House but also to the historical accuracy of the museum and the area.

GiveNOLA Day’s early giving period is open from April 18th until May 2nd, and scheduled donations will count toward this important day of giving. You can also donate in real time on the official GiveNOLA Day, which is Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022. The giving portal officially closes at 11:59:59 PM CST that night.
